CastLoop Terms of Service
Last Updated: May 22, 2026
Welcome to CastLoop
These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your use of CastLoop, an AI driven interactive story platform, and all software, content, and services offered through our website castloop.ai, our iOS and Android mobile applications, and any other channels we operate (collectively, the "Services").
The Services are operated by X ORIGINAL (HONG KONG) LIMITED ("Company," "we," "us," or "CastLoop"). By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms, the Privacy Policy, and the Community Guidelines. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
1. Our Services
1.1 What CastLoop Offers
CastLoop lets you:
- (a) browse and play interactive stories, branching narratives designed by writers and creators and completed in real time by AI (for example, The Glass Lake);
- (b) interact with stories through text input, choice selection, and other actions that prompt the AI to generate new branches, dialogue, voiceover, and imagery in real time;
- (c) create, edit, and publish interactive stories through xNarrator Studio, our creator tool (currently available by invitation only); and
- (d) purchase and use virtual items to unlock paid choices, obtain AI input credits, or access other entitlements.
1.2 Modifications, Suspension, and Storage Practices
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Services at any time, with or without notice, and will not be liable for any such change. We may also establish general practices and limits (including data retention periods and storage caps), terminate accounts that are inactive for an extended period, and change these practices at any time in our sole discretion. CastLoop has no responsibility or liability for the deletion or failure to store any data or content maintained or uploaded through the Services.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services as a result of your fraud or breach of these Terms, effective immediately and without notice.
2. Fees and Subscriptions
2.1 Fees and Payment
You may be required to pay fees to access certain features of the Services. Fees may be recurring or based on usage, and may increase at any time. By using a payment method on file (your "Payment Method"), you authorize us to charge the Payment Method for those fees plus applicable taxes. Additional services or features may carry additional fees; where they do, we will provide notice and an opportunity to accept before charging. We are not liable for errors caused by third party payment processors. Except as expressly provided in these Terms or as required by applicable law, fees are non refundable.
2.2 Subscriptions
| Tier | Description |
|---|---|
| Free Use | Free of charge. We may deny free use to anyone at our sole discretion. |
| CastLoop+ | Paid subscription providing full access to the Services. |
You may become a CastLoop+ subscriber by purchasing within the Apps where allowed by app marketplaces (such as Apple App Store and Google Play). Subscription billing, renewal, and cancellation are handled through the marketplace where you originally purchased. Subscriptions are billed in monthly (or other agreed) installments and renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel. To cancel, please use the subscription management settings of the marketplace through which you purchased; cancellations take effect at the end of the current billing period, and refunds for partial billing periods are not provided. If you fail to pay your subscription on the due date, you will be automatically downgraded to Free Use. Refunds, where required by applicable law, are processed by the app marketplace through which you made the purchase rather than by CastLoop directly; please direct refund requests to the relevant marketplace's support.
2.3 Virtual Items
Virtual items (such as AI input credits, paid choice unlocks, or CastLoop virtual currency) have no monetary value and may not be redeemed, transferred, or traded outside the Services. Virtual items are not refundable upon account termination, service discontinuation, or your breach of these Terms. We may reprice, restructure, or discontinue virtual items at our discretion.
3. Eligibility and Accounts
3.1 Age Requirement
You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we will promptly delete the information and terminate the account. Users 13 to 17 may use the Services only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on the minor's behalf. Certain mature themed stories may be limited to users 18 or older at our discretion. Parents or guardians who believe their child under 13 has provided personal information should contact privacy@castloop.ai.
3.2 Account Creation
To use certain features, you must create an account. You may register with your email address or sign in through a supported identity provider (such as Google, Apple, or Facebook). You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information. When you sign in via a third party provider, that provider's terms and privacy policy also apply.
3.3 Account Security
You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials and for all activities that occur under your Account. Do not disclose your credentials to anyone. We strongly recommend you back up any content important to you. We are not liable for any loss resulting from your failure to safeguard your account.
3.4 Termination
You may delete your Account at any time through account settings. We may suspend or terminate your Account if we have reasonable grounds to believe that information you provided is inaccurate or that your use violates these Terms.
4. Conditions of Use
4.1 User Conduct
You agree not to use the Services to:
- (a) upload any content that infringes third party rights; contains viruses or harmful code; poses a privacy or security risk; constitutes spam, unsolicited advertising, or promotional material; or is unlawful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, obscene, pornographic, hateful, or otherwise objectionable;
- (b) interfere with or disrupt the Services, servers, or connected networks;
- (c) violate any applicable law or regulation;
- (d) impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation;
- (e) solicit personal information from anyone under 18;
- (f) harvest other users' contact information for unsolicited communications;
- (g) advertise, sell, or buy goods or services for any unauthorized business purpose;
- (h) promote criminal activity or provide instructional information about illegal activities;

4.2 Personal Use Only
The Services are for personal, non commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, license, sell, exploit, or create derivative works from any portion of the Services for any commercial purpose without our prior written authorization.
4.3 Mobile Services
If you use the Apps over cellular networks, your wireless carrier's standard data charges and other fees apply, including roaming. We may communicate with you by SMS, MMS, or other electronic means regarding the Services. If you change or deactivate your mobile number, you agree to update your account so messages do not reach an unintended recipient.
4.4 International Use and Export Controls
The Services are operated from the United States and are intended for users located in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., you do so on your own initiative and are responsible for compliance with applicable local laws. Software and data transmissions may be subject to U.S. export controls; no software may be downloaded or re exported in violation of U.S. export laws.
5. AI Generated Content
5.1 How AI Generated Content Is Produced
CastLoop uses AI models to generate story branches, dialogue, voiceover, and imagery in real time within the world building, characters, and constraints set by writers and creators. AI generated content does not represent the views of the Company, the creators, or any third party. All characters, events, dialogue, and scenes in the Services are fictional; any resemblance to real people, organizations, or events is coincidental or used for narrative purposes only.
5.2 Not Professional Advice
AI generated content does not constitute legal, medical, mental health, financial, safety, or other professional advice. Do not rely on any AI output as a basis for real world decisions.
5.3 Output Quality and Similarity
Because the Services depend on rapidly evolving AI and machine learning:
- AI generated outputs may contain inaccuracies, drift from the established story, conflict with world building, or otherwise differ from your expectations. We make no warranty as to the accuracy, continuity, compliance, or fitness for purpose of AI generated content.
- Outputs generated for you may resemble outputs generated for other users. Such outputs are not your exclusive content.
5.4 Sensitive Themes
Some stories involve dramatic tension, suspense, mystery, or emotionally intense scenes. If you are sensitive to such themes or are going through a difficult time, please use the Services with care. If you have thoughts of harming yourself or others, please contact a crisis resource immediately (see Community Guidelines §8).
6. Intellectual Property
6.1 Service Content and Software
The Services contain content and features ("Service Content") protected by copyright, trademark, trade secret, and other laws. Except as expressly authorized, you agree not to modify, copy, scrape, distribute, or create derivative works from the Services or Service Content. You may not engage in data mining, scraping, or similar extraction, and you may not circumvent any block we apply to your access. You may not copy, modify, reverse engineer, or otherwise attempt to derive the source code of the underlying software. All rights not expressly granted are reserved by CastLoop.
6.2 User Content and the License You Grant
CastLoop categorizes content as follows:
| Layer | Definition |

| User Content | Content you upload or share, including free text inputs and uploaded materials |
| Creator Content | Content uploaded through xNarrator Studio (governed by §7) |
| AI Generated Content | Output generated by the Services' AI based on your inputs and writer constraints, treated as User Generated Content |

Your warranties. You represent and warrant that you own all rights to your User Content, or have all necessary licenses, including for any third party likeness, voice, trademark, or copyrighted material referenced.
License. By uploading User Content, you grant CastLoop and its affiliates a non exclusive, worldwide, royalty free, fully paid up, transferable, sublicensable, perpetual, irrevocable license to copy, display, distribute, store, modify, and otherwise use your User Content in connection with operating, promoting, and improving the Services in any medium now known or later developed.
Submissions (feedback, suggestions, ideas) are non confidential, and we may use them freely without compensation or attribution.
Your responsibility. You, and not CastLoop, are entirely responsible for all User Content you make available through the Services.
6.3 DMCA Notice and Counter Notice
If you believe content on the Services infringes your copyright, send a notice to our Copyright Agent at dmca@castloop.ai (subject: "DMCA Takedown Request") that includes: (a) your physical or electronic signature; (b) identification of the copyrighted work and proof of ownership; (c) location of the allegedly infringing material on the Services; (d) your contact information; (e) a good faith statement that the use is not authorized; and (f) a statement under penalty of perjury that the information is accurate and that you are authorized to act.

If we receive a valid counter notice, we may restore the content within 10 to 14 business days unless the original complainant files a court action. Repeat infringers may have their accounts terminated.
6.4 Monitoring and Enforcement
We may (but are not obligated to) remove or refuse any content, take legal action including referral to law enforcement, or suspend or terminate access for any reason, including violation of these Terms. Successful upload does not constitute our endorsement of the content's legality or appropriateness. If you believe content infringes your rights or violates these Terms, contact legal@castloop.ai.
7. Creator Terms
xNarrator Studio is currently available by invitation only. Acceptance of access constitutes acceptance of this Section and any separate Creator Agreement.
- License. You grant the Company a worldwide, non exclusive, royalty free, sublicensable license to display, distribute, and market Creator Content within the Services and any distribution channels we operate; to perform necessary technical processing (transcoding, AI context provision); and to use Creator Content as promotional material with creator credit.
- Warranties. You represent that you own or have licensed all rights in Creator Content (including real person likenesses, voices, music, and quoted text); that Creator Content does not infringe third party rights, violate applicable law, or violate the Community Guidelines; and that you remain responsible for compliance of any AI assisted creations you publish.
- Revenue sharing. If we introduce a creator revenue sharing program in the future, the terms will be set in a separate agreement. These Terms do not constitute any revenue commitment.
- Takedown. We may remove Creator Content at any time for compliance, copyright, risk control, or operational reasons.
8. Third Party Services and Social Login
The Services may link to or integrate third party sites, services, and identity providers (including Google, Apple, and Facebook). We do not control and are not responsible for third party content, availability, or practices. Your dealings with third parties are between you and them, and we are not liable for any related loss or claim. The way third parties use, store, and disclose information you share with them is governed solely by their own policies.
9. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability
THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE EXPRESSLY DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR FREE, OR THAT RESULTS OBTAINED WILL BE ACCURATE OR RELIABLE.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CASTLOOP WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF PROFITS, GOODWILL, USE, DATA, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, ARISING FROM (I) YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICES; (II) THE COST OF SUBSTITUTE GOODS OR SERVICES; (III) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS TO YOUR DATA; (IV) THIRD PARTY STATEMENTS OR CONDUCT; OR (V) ANY OTHER MATTER RELATING TO THE SERVICES.
IN NO EVENT WILL CASTLOOP'S TOTAL LIABILITY EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID THE COMPANY IN THE LAST SIX (6) MONTHS OR ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100), WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, so they may not apply to you. Your sole and exclusive remedy if you are dissatisfied with the Services is to stop using them. For New Jersey residents, the foregoing limitations apply only to the extent permitted by New Jersey law.
10. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CastLoop, its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents, and licensors from any claims, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from (a) your use of the Services; (b) your breach of these Terms or any applicable law or third party right; or (c) any dispute between you and another user. We have the right to seek injunctive or other equitable relief in addition to any other remedies, and you waive any bond requirement.
11. Arbitration and Dispute Resolution
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY. THIS SECTION AFFECTS YOUR RIGHTS. BY AGREEING TO BINDING ARBITRATION, YOU WAIVE YOUR RIGHT TO LITIGATE DISPUTES IN COURT AND TO HAVE A JURY DECIDE YOUR CASE. YOU ALSO WAIVE THE RIGHT TO PARTICIPATE IN A CLASS ACTION. Some jurisdictions do not allow mandatory arbitration or class action waivers, so parts of this Section may not apply to you.
Any claim, dispute, or proceeding arising from your use of the Services or these Terms (a "Dispute") will be resolved as follows, to the fullest extent permitted by law, regardless of the legal theory and even if the Dispute arises after termination.
11.1 Opt Out (30 Days)
You may opt out of arbitration within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms by sending your name, residence address, account email, and a clear opt out statement to legal@castloop.ai. The same 30 day opt out applies to any future revisions of this arbitration provision.
11.2 Notice of Dispute (45 Day Informal Resolution)
Before commencing arbitration, the party raising a Dispute must send a written Notice of Dispute describing the facts and a proposed resolution. You must send any Notice to CastLoop both by first class U.S. Mail to the address in §15 and by email to legal@castloop.ai. CastLoop will send notices to your address on file. The parties will attempt to resolve the Dispute through informal negotiation for 45 days before either party may commence arbitration.
11.3 Mediation, Binding Arbitration, and Governing Law
Disputes will be submitted first to mediation under the JAMS Mediation Rules, with mediation held in San Francisco, California. If unresolved within 30 days after mediator appointment, the Dispute will be finally resolved by binding arbitration administered by JAMS under its Comprehensive Arbitration Rules then in effect, with arbitration held in San Francisco, California. The arbitrator decides all issues of arbitrability. Any court with jurisdiction may enforce the arbitrator's award.
Governing Law. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. The Federal Arbitration Act governs the interpretation and enforcement of this arbitration agreement.
11.4 Class Action Waiver
Disputes will be resolved solely on an individual basis. Class actions, class arbitrations, and representative proceedings are not permitted. Arbitrations may not be consolidated without consent of all parties. The arbitrator may award relief only to you individually and only to the extent required to satisfy your individual claim. If a court determines that the class action waiver is unenforceable as to a particular claim or remedy, that claim or remedy will be decided by a court after all other claims are arbitrated.
11.5 Arbitration Procedures and Fees
For disputes involving $10,000 or less, hearings will be telephonic unless the arbitrator finds good cause otherwise. The filing party pays the initial filing fee (subject to waiver under arbitration rules). Each party bears its own attorneys' and witness fees, except as the arbitrator may otherwise award under applicable law.
11.6 Filing Period (1 Year)
Any Dispute under these Terms must be filed in arbitration within one (1) year from the earliest date on which any of the events giving rise to the Dispute first occurred. Claims not filed within one year are permanently barred. This period may be extended only by mutual written consent.
11.7 Enforceability and Confidentiality
If the class action waiver or this entire Section is found unenforceable, the affected portion will be null and void; any litigation will then proceed exclusively in the state or federal courts located in San Francisco County, California, applying California law. All aspects of the arbitration, including any ruling or award, will be strictly confidential.
11.8 User Disputes
You are solely responsible for your interactions with other users. CastLoop has no obligation to involve itself in disputes between users.
12. Complaints, Reports, and Appeals
To submit a complaint, contact legal@castloop.ai or use the in service reporting tools; we will conduct an initial review within 15 business days. If your account is restricted or your content is removed, you may appeal within 30 days of receiving notice. See Community Guidelines §6.3 for details.
13. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material updates will be highlighted through in service announcements, email, or other reasonable means. Continued use of the Services after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
14. Miscellaneous
- Privacy. Your use of the Services is also subject to the Privacy Policy.
- Relationship. You and CastLoop are independent contractors. These Terms do not create any partnership, joint venture, or agency relationship.
- Entire Agreement. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, Community Guidelines, and any separate agreement (such as a Creator Agreement), constitute the entire agreement and supersede any prior agreements.
- Severability. If any provision is held invalid, the remaining provisions remain in full force, and the court should give effect to the parties' intent.
- Assignment. You may not assign these Terms. We may assign in connection with a merger, acquisition, sale of assets, or corporate reorganization.
- No waiver. Our failure to enforce any right is not a waiver of that right.
- Language. These Terms are written in English. In any conflict between language versions, the English version controls.

You may continue to receive Services related and other non marketing emails from us.
7.2 Opt Out of "Sale" or "Sharing" of Personal Information for Targeted Advertising
We share information with third party advertising partners and allow them to collect information about your visit to our Website using cookies and other tracking technologies to display targeted advertising. Our disclosure of information to these partners may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information or "targeted advertising" under applicable U.S. state laws. You can opt out of these disclosures and limit our use of tracking technologies by following the instructions after clicking the "Your Privacy Choices" link in our website footer. We will also honor browser based opt out signals such as the Global Privacy Control (GPC) in accordance with our legal obligations.
7.3 Personal Information Requests
Depending on your location and the nature of your interactions with our Services, you may request the following:
- (a) Information about how we have collected and used your personal information (this Privacy Policy provides much of that information already);
- (b) Access to a copy of the personal information we have collected about you, in a portable, machine readable format where applicable;

- (f) Additional rights, such as the right to object to or restrict our use of personal information.
To make a request, please contact us at privacy@castloop.ai. We may ask for specific information from you to help us confirm your identity. You are entitled to exercise the rights described above free from discrimination.
In some instances, your choices may be limited (for example, where fulfilling your request would impair the rights of others, our ability to provide a service you have requested, or our ability to comply with our legal obligations). 8. Children's Privacy (COPPA)
The Services are not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13.
If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will promptly delete the information from our servers and terminate the account. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe your child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us at privacy@castloop.ai and we will take appropriate action.
For users between 13 and 17 years old, the Services may be used only with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to the Terms of Service on the minor's behalf. We do not market our Services to anyone under 18.

The "Last Updated" date at the top of this Privacy Policy indicates when this Policy was last revised.

We "share" information with our advertising partners to provide more relevant and tailored advertising to you regarding our Services. Moreover, our use of third party analytics services and online advertising services may result in the sharing of online identifiers (such as cookie data, IP addresses, device identifiers, and usage information) in a way that may be considered a "sale" under the CCPA/CPRA.

CastLoop Community Guidelines
Last Updated: May 22, 2026
Overview
CastLoop is dedicated to providing a safe, welcoming, and creative environment where storytellers and audiences can explore meaningful narratives together. To maintain the integrity of our community, we have zero tolerance for harmful behaviors including violence, harassment, and discrimination. These actions go against our core values and diminish the experience for everyone.
We protect our community through rigorous content monitoring that combines human review with AI moderation. Our goal is to ensure that every interaction on CastLoop, whether with AI characters, with creators, or with other community members, remains positive and enriching.
These Community Guidelines are an integral part of our Terms of Service. By using CastLoop (including browsing stories, making free text inputs, or creating through xNarrator Studio), you agree to follow these Guidelines.
0. Our Core Principles
- Mainstream storytelling, not adult content. CastLoop is a platform for short form interactive storytelling, comparable in tone to popular short drama platforms (such as ReelShort) and broadcast television. We do not host sexually explicit content, graphic violence, or other adult only material.
- Fiction is not a free pass. We allow dramatic tension, conflict, suspense, romance, and morally complex characters. We do not allow stories that use fictional framing as a cover to cause real world harm.
- AI is a collaborator, not a moderation shield. Asking the AI to write something does not make prohibited content allowed.
- Protect real people, especially minors, real world individuals, and yourself.
- Platform moderation plus community reports. We use AI and human review, but rely on you to report violations you encounter.
1. Who This Applies To
| Audience | Scope |
|---|---|
| Players | Browsing and playing stories, making choices, free text inputs, @character interactions, comments, reports |
| Creators | Uploading scripts, character setups, world building, images, video, and audio through xNarrator Studio |
| Platform team | First party content (such as The Glass Lake) is held to the same standards |
2. Content That Is Not Allowed
The following content is prohibited in any form (text, image, audio, video, story branch) and across any role (player input, creator upload, AI generated output). This applies even when the content is fictional or framed as story content.
2.1 Minor Safety
We are committed to protecting both real and virtual minors, whether they are human users or fictional characters. No harmful, inappropriate, or sexualized content involving minors is permitted in any form.
- Sexualization of minors: Any content that sexualizes minors, including the depiction of minors in sexually explicit, suggestive, or inappropriate contexts, is strictly prohibited. This includes nudity, sexualization through clothing or pose, or innuendo involving anyone under 18.
- Harmful or dangerous acts involving minors: Content that shows minors engaging in or encourages dangerous activities is not allowed.
- Cyberbullying or harassment of minors: Content that targets minors for harassment, bullying, or humiliation is prohibited.
All AI characters must be set as 18 years or older and must not appear underage in any visual or narrative way. Even for fictional AI characters, the combination of "underage appearance" with romantic or sexual context is a violation.
2.2 Adult Sexual Content (NSFW)
CastLoop is a mainstream short drama platform. We do not host sexually explicit material. Romantic tension, suggestive flirtation, and tasteful kisses can be part of a story, but sexual content is not permitted. Specifically prohibited:
- Sexually explicit images, video, audio, or text;
- Pornographic material in any form;
- Descriptions of sexual acts;
- Sexual exploitation, sexual abuse, or non consensual sexual content (this is a permanent red line);
- Nudity or near nudity intended to be sexually suggestive;
- Sexual content involving minors (covered in §2.1 as a top priority red line);
- Content that objectifies or inappropriately sexualizes individuals.
The standard is comparable to network broadcast television and mainstream short drama apps. If you would not see it on prime time television or on a popular short drama platform, do not put it in CastLoop.
2.3 Graphic Violence and Gore
Dramatic conflict, mystery, suspense, and even murder mysteries (like The Glass Lake) are part of mainstream storytelling and are allowed when they serve the narrative. The following, however, is not allowed:
- Graphic, extreme, or gratuitous depictions of violence, injury, or gore;
- Torture, dismemberment, or prolonged cruelty depicted in graphic detail;
- Content that glorifies, celebrates, or recruits for violence;
- Realistic instruction on how to harm a real person.
Allowed: A killer in a mystery story, a fight between rivals in a werewolf drama, a tense confrontation, a tragic death used as a plot point. Not allowed: graphic torture scenes, gratuitous gore, content whose primary purpose is to shock.
2.4 Self Harm and Suicide
- We prohibit content that promotes, glorifies, or provides specific methods for suicide or self harm;
- We prohibit content that encourages or coerces another person into self harm.
Stories may touch on grief, depression, or moments of crisis when handled responsibly and when they support the broader narrative (the protagonist of The Glass Lake is going through grief, for example). What we do not allow is content that reads as how to guides, that pressures the reader to harm themselves, or that romanticizes suicide.
2.5 Hateful Behavior
CastLoop is committed to fostering an inclusive environment. Diversity strengthens our community, and violations of these policies will result in immediate action. The following are strictly prohibited:
- Harassment or hostile behavior targeting individuals or groups;
- Hate speech or discriminatory content of any kind;
- Attacks or negative content based on race or ethnicity;
- Discrimination based on national origin or caste;
- Hostile behavior targeting sexual orientation;
- Content discriminating against gender or gender identity;
- Attacks based on religious beliefs or practices;
- Discrimination based on age;
- Hostile content targeting disability or health status;
- Any other form of discriminatory or hateful behavior.
Characters within a story may hold biases or be antagonists. What is not allowed is content where the work as a whole treats hatred as a positive value or recruits the reader into hostility toward a real world group.
2.6 Illegal Activities and Regulated Goods
CastLoop strictly prohibits any activities that violate local, state, federal, or international laws. You may not engage in, promote, or facilitate:
- Illegal transactions or activities of any kind;
- The sale or purchase of prohibited goods or services;
- Activities involving regulated items without proper authorization;
- Operable instructions for committing crimes (such as making weapons, explosives, narcotics, or biological hazards; performing cyberattacks; conducting fraud, money laundering, human trafficking, or trafficking in persons or organs);
- Attempts to circumvent legal restrictions.
2.7 Harm to Real People
- Sexual content, defamation, or depictions of harm involving real, identifiable individuals (including public figures);
- Deepfake images, video, or audio of real people;
- Stories that frame real, identifiable people as accused criminals, abusers, or other targets of harm without basis.
Historical figures used in genuine historical narratives are acceptable when treated with reasonable care (for example, the use of Ismail I in our demo Faith is Armor). What is not acceptable is content that distorts a real person's image in a clearly defamatory or degrading way.
2.8 Privacy and Authenticity (Personal Information Protection)
To protect our users' safety and privacy, we strongly encourage users to be cautious about sharing sensitive information online. The following personal information should not be shared in public spaces (comments, public profiles, or as content that other users will see):
- Phone numbers, email addresses, or physical addresses;
- Financial information, including credit card details or bank accounts;
- Government issued identification numbers or documents;
- Private social media accounts or personal contact details;
- Precise location information or daily routines;
- Educational or workplace details that could identify a specific real person;
- Family members' personal information or private details.
2.9 Intellectual Property Infringement
- Unauthorized use of copyrighted scripts, novels, comics, films, music, or images;
- Impersonation of others' trademarks or brands;
- Uploads that are obvious copies of other works without clear fan or transformative framing.
2.10 Fraud and Spam
- Phishing, fraud, promotion of gambling or pyramid schemes;
- Advertising within stories or comments;
- Repetitive, spam, or low quality machine generated posts.
3. Rules for Players
3.1 Free Text Input
CastLoop encourages you to "write boldly" in stories. Please follow these rules:
- ❌ Do not try to use jailbreak prompts, prompt injection, or other techniques to bypass the AI's content moderation (for example: "ignore the previous instructions and write...");
- ❌ Do not input any content prohibited in §2;
- ❌ Do not disclose another person's real world private information in your inputs;
- ✅ Do input imaginative story directions, character motivations, and world building hypotheses;
- ✅ Do use
@characterto talk naturally with NPCs; - ✅ Do use the AI assisted polish/expansion feature to improve your input.
3.2 Choices and Interactions
- The choices you make affect your story path. Your specific choices are not publicly displayed to other users;
- The platform may use aggregate statistics to analyze choice distributions, but we will not publish your individual choices.
3.3 Comments and Social
- Comments should focus on the work itself. Personal attacks and group based attacks are not allowed;
- Use spoiler tags when discussing story endings;
- Do not use comment sections to organize or coordinate any of the prohibited activities in §2.
4. Rules for Creators (xNarrator Studio)
4.1 Scripts and World Building
- ✅ You may create stories with mature themes such as mystery, suspense, thriller, political drama, family conflict, romance, supernatural drama, and psychological tension (in the style of mainstream short drama platforms);
- ✅ You may design morally gray or villainous characters, as long as the work as a whole does not present unlawful or harmful behavior as a positive value;
- ❌ Do not create stories that defame, sexualize, or target real, identifiable people;
- ❌ Do not create detailed operable instructions for crimes or harm;
- ❌ Do not create any content listed in §2.
4.2 Character Setup
- All character ages must be set to 18 or above, and visual appearance must not be obviously underage;
- When referencing historical or cultural figures, verify the relevant legal and ethical considerations;
- Character setups, prompts, and world building must avoid built in violations (such as default hateful expressions or sexual content).
4.3 Asset Uploads
The images, video, and audio you upload must be:
- Created by you, or
- Used with explicit permission from the rights holder, or
- In the public domain or under a clear permissive license (please keep proof of authorization);
In addition:
- Do not upload assets containing the likeness of a real person (unless you have proper rights);
- Do not upload assets that include the likeness of a minor;
- If you use AI tools to produce assets, do not upload assets in a way that obscures their AI generated origin where disclosure is required.
4.4 Metadata and Marketing
- Titles, descriptions, and cover art must accurately represent the content of the story;
- Do not use misleading tags, thumbnails, or clickbait titles;
- Do not falsify metrics, comments, or ratings.
4.5 Responsibility When Collaborating with AI
- You may use AI tools (including those built into xNarrator) in your creative process, but you are credited as the author of the published work and you are responsible for its compliance;
- You should design nodes and tune prompts so that the AI is guided to stay within these Guidelines.
5. AI Character (NPC) Boundaries
CastLoop's AI characters are configured by writers and creators with personas, world building, and parameter constraints. Even so:
5.1 AI is not an anonymous person. The AI's outputs are considered part of the platform's output and are subject to these Guidelines.
5.2 AI will not and should not:
- Voluntarily generate any content prohibited under §2;
- Help a user carry out real world unlawful activity;
- Present itself as a real person;
- Provide professional advice (medical, legal, financial, mental health) as a basis for real world decisions.
5.3 AI characters may:
- Express emotion, doubt, conflict, and desire;
- Engage in dramatic conflict with the player;
- Portray violence, harm, or tragedy within the boundaries the writer has set for a story.
5.4 When the AI drifts: If the AI occasionally produces output that violates these Guidelines, is inconsistent with the established story, or otherwise misses the mark, please use the in service report tool to tell us. We use this feedback to improve our models and prompts.
6. Enforcement
6.1 Enforcement Ladder
| Level | Trigger | Possible Action |
|---|---|---|
| L1 Warning | Minor first time violation, educable | System notice, content removal, request to revise |
| L2 Restriction | Repeated minor violations or single moderate violation | Restrict specific features (free text, comments, uploads), temporary mute |
| L3 Suspension | Moderately severe violation | Account suspension (7 / 30 / 90 days) |
| L4 Permanent Ban | Red line violations under §2; repeated severe violations | Permanent ban; no re registration |
| L5 Referral | Suspected criminal violations (such as content involving minors, terrorism, severe fraud) | Preserve evidence and refer to law enforcement |
6.2 Decision Principles
- We weigh the nature and impact of the content, the user's history, and intent;
- Red line violations (§2) generally proceed directly to L4 / L5;
- When in doubt, we favor human review;
- Our moderation decisions are final and aim to maintain the safety and well being of the community.
6.3 Notice and Appeal
- After an enforcement action, we will notify you via in service message or email, specifying the affected content or account, the Guideline that was violated, and the action taken;
- You may file an appeal within 30 days of receiving notice by emailing appeals@castloop.ai or using the in service appeals form;
- Appeals should include: account information, a description of the content at issue, the reasons you believe the action was incorrect, and any supporting evidence;
- We will respond within 15 business days. We reserve the right to decline to process repeated abusive appeals.
7. Reporting
7.1 What You Can Report
- Stories, chapters, dialogue, images, or audio that violates §2;
- Creator works that appear to violate these Guidelines;
